Question:
Why Do I Huff and Puff on Stairs...I Can Easily Run A Mile On The Treadmill?
Answer:
As anyone who has used a rolling suitcase knows, it's easier to pull a heavy object along a flat surface than it is to lift it.
When you run on a treadmill, you're barely lifting any of your own body weight up.
Walking up a typical 45 degree staircase, on the other hand, requires you to pull 75% of your body weight against gravity.
You may want to expand your regular exercise routine to include a stepper.
